Untitled Evidence

(February 2016)

Untitled Evidence is an audience engaged requiem/ dance/testimony that speaks on the death of Sandra Bland. On July 10, 2015 Sandra Bland was pulled over by Texas state trooper Brian Encinia in Prairie View, Texas for a failure to signal and found dead 3 days later in a Waller County jail cell from a supposed suicide. This piece is a ritual to remember the legacy of violence and disregard of black women that has it’s roots in slavery while promising to disrupt the normality of this social reality.
