Friday, Oct. 21: Headmistress performance of *Labor is Labor and there are two
flavors and both of them are raw*
As part of the *Hide and Seeing* performance series at the de Young museum
curated by de Young artist fellow Todd T. Brown.
This performance is a collaboration between Headmistress and visual artist
Ana Teresa Fernandez and features a performance by dancer/choreographer Cire
Beye from Senegal.

Pot Luck Food Party/quilting and sewing circle
Join us as we construct a quilt dedicated
to food stories and traditions
and
learn some basic sewing and quilting
skills in the process. Bring some food to share and old kitchen napkins, aprons
or table cloths to become of a part of the
quilt which will be on display in the lobby
during the run of "Our Daily Bread".

A Potluck Food Party/Eat-In to celebrate the 100th anniversary of International
Womenʼs Day and Mardi Gras!
Time: 12-3pm or Join the Brass Band Second Line starting @ 11:30am on the corner of
8th and Mission
(route goes up to Market St. to 9th then down to CounterPULSE)

Take off of work and Join us in a Mardi Gras second line from 8th and Market to
CounterPULSE theater where we will cook, eat and engage in conversation and
dialogue about how to eat home cooked meals on a regular basis. Share your insights
and wisdom along with invited Food activists and artists who will be sharing their
knowledge and wisdom on these issues. Food, music, good conversation and an
excerpt from Deep Waters Dance Theaterʼs upcoming Production, “Our Daily Bread”; a
dance theater work about food, food folklore, cultural identity and sustainability. This
piece will premier at CounterPULSE theater, 2011.
